FAQ

What is letterpress?

Letterpress is a printing method in which the ink is applied to the raised text or image surface (with the use of lead type or plates) which is then pressed against the paper, transferring the design and leaving a beautiful impression. Each paper is hand fed, printing just one color at a time.

Do you do wedding invitations or other custom work?

Yes! We do specialize in custom work and wedding invitations. Because letterpress is a handmade process, please contact us 4-6 months before your event for custom invitations. For more information on custom work look here.

What kind of paper do you use?

Bluebonnet Press uses 100% cotton paper. Cotton paper is made from post-consumer waste. Not only does it have a beautiful texture, but it's good for the earth too. Cotton paper is also archival - no fading or yellowing here! This means that sweet note you wrote your daughter when she was born will look the same on her 16th birthday; a true keepsake.

What kind of shipping do you offer?

We use USPS mail. As soon as your package goes out you will be notified when to expect it. If you would prefer FedEx or UPS please let us know.

Can I come see your work in person?

For safety reasons, our studio is closed to the public (giant presses and paper cutters are cool, but not the safest for clients).  However, if you are in the Houston area and would like to discuss ideas and take a look at our work we would love to set up a consult. If not, we also sell samples :)
